Today, Sept 12, 2007 is Leonard Peltier’s 63rd birthday!

Throughout the month of September supporters nationwide and internationally are gathering in unity and solidarity for Leonard Peltier and letting others know about the injustices Leonard Peltier has endured, which have resulted in over 30 years of wrongful incarceration.

GERMANY:

The German organization Gesellschaft für bedrohte Völker (Society for Threatened Peoples) is organizing a a solemn vigil on the occassion of Leonard's birthday on September 12th, 2007 in Erfurt. On the same day, the Konrad-Adenauer Stiftung/Foundation is organizing a "Transatlantic Dialogue". Society for Threatened Peoples will use the opportunity of the presence of the U.S. Consul General, Marc Scheland, at this dialogue to be there with their vigil and will try to meet the Consul General in order to pass an appeal for Leonard Peltier on to him. Society for Threatened Peoples has also launched an internet campaign in support of Leonard's FOIA request regarding the release of the FBI documents.
